Many local chemists offer this service, such as Boots and Lloyds, contact numbers can be found online.
We can offer any of the vaccinations which are free of charge on the NHS – these are Diphtheria, Tetanus, polio (DTP), Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis A and Typhoid.
If you would like a copy of your vaccination history emailed to you for your travel consultation, please call the surgery to request a copy of your vaccination history, however please allow 14 working days for a response.
Please arrange your vaccinations AT LEAST 4 weeks prior to travel whenever possible to allow for full protection for the diseases you are being vaccinated against.
Non-NHS Vaccines include : Hepatitis B (for travel), Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies, Tuberculosis, Yellow Fever, Tick-Borne Encephalitis, Meningococcus, Malaria
Community Midwifery Team
A community midwife and a doctor work together to care for you during your pregnancy and delivery. Midwives can be contacted on 01326 430302.
MacMillan Nurse
MacMillan nurses provide care and support for people with cancer. Please contact the doctor if your feel you or a relative want these services.
Health Visitors
Health visitors are trained nurses especially concerned with all aspects of care for pre-school children and their families. They are interested in promoting good health. They can be contacted by telephoning: 01209 318525.
Community Nurses (District Nurses)
Our district nurses provide nursing care and assess the patient’s needs within the home environment. They can be contacted by telephoning: 01326 430212.
Counsellors
In house counselling is available after referral from your doctor. It is provided by the agency Outlook Soutwest.www.outlooksw.co.uk
Health checks
These are available by appointment with the practice nurse.
Healthcare Assistant
Takes bloods, blood pressures, new patient health checks, and carries out various other duties including ECG’s. Appointments can be booked over the telephone or at Reception.
Nurses’ Clinics
The nurses run clinics for patients with continuing conditions such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease and high blood pressure. They can provide smoking cessation, lifestyle, and weight loss/diet advice.
Foreign Travel
Immunisations and travel advice are available from our practice nurses. Try to allow eight weeks for a full course of immunisations.
Please collect a travel form at reception and return it at least a week before your first appointment with the practice nurse. Travel vaccinations will need to be paid for before being administered.
Patients will be contacted or notified of the amount to pay beforehand in order for patients to make payment when the vaccination is given.
